Welcome to my class.
My sixth grade students will be learning all about our atmosphere and weather, plants, animals, and conservation of energy. My seventh grade students will be studying ecology, properties of matter, cells and heredity, and the human body systems. My eighth grade students will explore astronomy, Earth’s structure and processes, Earth’s biological history and waves.
Please come with your ‘thinking caps’ on and with a willingness to learn. Hope this will be a year you will learn a lot, have some fun, and remember forever.

What's Happening In Science

The first two weeks of school was all about ‘The Scientific Method. We learned all the terminology and the different types of variables. We then completed our own murder investigation, “The Case of Lois McArthur”, to put the scientific method into practice. We examined fibers, hair, blood (fake), handprints, and fingerprints in order to determine who was guilty of the crime. It was tedious work but loads of fun.
Sixth grade students are studying Earth’s atmosphere and weather at this time.
Seventh grade is studying ecology. We are learning all about ecosystems and biomes.
Eighth grade is studying astronomy. We are learning all about our sun, Earth and moon.
